The marketplace tax
For every ₹1,399 raincoat sold on a marketplace, roughly ₹450 goes to the platform — commissions, fulfilment fees, advertising costs, and return abuse. That is 32% of the price you pay, and none of it makes the coat better.
The price spiral
To cover rising marketplace fees, we had to raise MRP year after year. Our most loyal customers — the ones who already knew the coat was worth it — were paying more so we could afford to be visible to new ones. That felt wrong.
The decision
This monsoon, we stopped paying the middleman. Same factory, same RipStop fabric, same triple-stitched seams, same StormSnout hood with visor, same 3M reflective strips. The only thing that changed is who stands between us and you: nobody.
The correction
This is not a sale. We are not dumping old stock. We are simply charging you what the coat actually costs to make, plus a fair margin — without the 32% marketplace surcharge. The direct price is the real price.
